2022 CLUB COMPETITIONS
PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE COMPLETING THE ENTRY FORM
The competitions weekend will take place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September 2022. Please ensure you are available for the two days before entering any competition. Friday 9th September 2022 can be used as a contingency day if a finalist is not available for the weekend. However, this will require the agreement of the playing committee.
The Men’s Triples and Mixed Triples competitions will take place on six nominated Thursdays as listed in the fixture booklet. Please do not enter these competitions if you know you will be unavailable on any of these dates. Any request for a substitute must be made to the Competition Secretary, who will arrange a suitable player, who has not previously played in the competition. Substitutions will only be allowed in exceptional circumstances.
The 2 Wood Singles will be played on Saturday 23rd July 2022. There will be a Plate Competition for first round losers. The finals of both competitions will take place on Finals weekend.
The challenger(s) – top name(s) on the draw sheet – must contact their opponent(s) as soon as possible to arrange a date to play within the time limit set out on the draw sheet. The obligation of the challenger(s) is set out in the “rules for the conduct of club competitions” – a copy of which can be found on the main notice board in the Rose Pavilion However, it is the responsibility of all players to be flexible when arranging dates/times to ensure games are played within the time limits.
If you intend to take a holiday during the competitions, you must inform your opponent(s) at the earliest opportunity to ensure the game is played within the time limits. Failure to play the game within the time limits will result in disqualification. Requests to extend the time limit will only be considered if there are exceptional circumstances preventing the game being played in accordance with the rules.
The draw for each of the competitions will be made on Thursday 5th May 2022. Please ensure your entry form is completed and handed in before the closing date.
